Generate Fnis For Users Error

Generate Fnis For Users Error Rating: 9,9/10 6992 votes

But if I could generate FNIS resources somewhere. Using FNIS with Mod. Of 'FNIS Sexy Move' and 'FNIS PCEA2' stopped with ERROR(s): Last FNIS. The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. Fnis ERROR(2023). Generate fnis for users is literally the only place in which you can view that error #5.

This topic is specifically for FNIS related issues when using Mod Organizer.

EDIT: 17th April 2016.

Due to @fore's 'issues' with MO he has pulled all support and directed it here.

Let it be stated that the 'issues' he notes are due to user error and there is no inherent issue with FNIS running in MO.

Further his claim that FNIS WILL NOT run through MO on Windows 10 machines is just wrong! DO NOT follow the advice he offers regarding using FNIS and MO.

Setting up FNIS to run through MO

Fnis Error 2012

Install it like any other mod through MO and make sure it is active (checkmarked) in the left pane mod list.

Since you must launch FNIS through Mod Organizer in order for it to recognize your mods, add FNIS to the list of executables by doing the following:

  1. Click the gears icon .
  2. In the Title field, type FNIS.
  3. For the Binary field, browse to your FNIS installation (should be located in <ModOrganizer>/mods/Fores New Idles in Skyrim - FNIS/tools/GenerateFNIS_for_Users) and select the GenerateFNISforUsers.exe application.
  4. Click the Add button. This will add FNIS to your executables list.
  5. Click OK.

Now each time you want to run FNIS, simply select it from the drop-down menu at top right and click Run.

Running through MO

  1. Launch FNIS through MO
  2. In the Available Patches at the bottom of the window, check the boxes for all necessary patches in your setup.
  3. Click the [Update FNIS Behavior] button and wait for a message to appear in the window stating 'X animations for Y mods successfully included.'.
  4. Click [Exit].

After closing FNIS, there will be files in Overwrite (essentially a fake mod located at the bottom of the left pane if sorted by priority ascending) created by FNIS. Right-click Overwrite and select Create Mod, name it FNIS Output and click OK. This will create a new mod listing in the left pane for the FNIS generated files. You will then need to check it to enable it. Each subsequent time you update FNIS behavior, you must open Overwrite and drag the new files back to this mod.

Common Errors

Error 53 or 2012

'Could not find file <path to file>1hm_behavior.hkx

Ensure the animation sets you have installed are correctly placed in priority in the left-hand pane and FNIS is using the one you want. Open the Data tab in the right-hand pane and examine the filetree to see which animation is being used in the VFS.

Navigate the filetree by expanding: data>meshes>actors>character>behaviors> and see which mod is providing the file.

If the file name is displayed in red, the mouse tooltip will show which other mods are also providing this file. Mogali rekulu serial episode 1001. Move the correct mod to the correct location.

Additional cause for Error 2012

A user(@patchling) had Spybot - Search & Destroy+AV 2.5 installed and was constantly getting JIT and 2012 errors, specifically the 0_master.xml was not found. The file was placed in the FNIS temporary_log folder ready for processing but before that could happen it was removed by said program. Opening the start menu > settings > live protection > mode > uncheck 'Scan programs before they start' apparently stops that behaviour.

Error dialogue

GenerateFNISForUsers.exe - This application could not be started.

This application could not be started.

Do you want to view information about this issue?

Simply close the dialogue by pressing 'No' and enable FNIS in the Left-hand pane. Correct FNIS installation and use explains this in the wiki.

For

Why does the 6.2 Add-on not look correct in MO?

What you need to remember here is MO is designed to handle 'mods' and what we are installing with FNIS, and its add-ons, are 'tools'.

This means MO is looking for the correct folder structure for a 'mod' as seen by the game. The archive for the 6.2 add-on has as its top folder: 'tools' and this is correct for FNIS, not the game.

Simply 'set the data folder' so that the 'tools' folder is now at the top of the tree and ignore the next dialogue that asks if you are sure.

Hi I have recently started testing Mod Organizer 2. I'm finished installing all of my mods now I'm in the final steps of getting my game running. One of those steps is using FNIS to implement my new animations. FNIS opens with Mod Organizer without any issue but when I try to run the program I receive this Error Message:

ERROR(76): Could not find a part of the path 'C:GamesSteamsteamappscommonSkyrimdatatoolsGenerateFNIS_for_Userstemporary_logsGenerateFNIS_LogFile.txt'.

In the previous version of Mod Organizer I don't remember having to create this file path. I'm not sure exactly how I'm suppose to get FNIS running any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

Fores New Idles in Skyrim??? Mod Organizer 2 support for 32 bit targets is STILL fairly unstable I believe..(somebody correct me)
External installers for Fallout 4 are broken..so I'm guessing external FNIS installer will be broken as well in Skyrim mode.

Same here, so I guess it just won't work? Any workaround?

commented Jul 13, 2016

I have the same issue
Resolution (that worked for me):
Create empty mod: FNIS Patch (or whatever you like)
go to modify executables and edit FNIS
tick Create Files in Mod instead of Overwrite (*) and choose your new Empty Mod
Run FNIS , when you exit patch is installed to your mod.

NOTE: you need to run FNIS in the mod folder so it generates DontAskAgainForLink.txt or it crashes MO2 occasionally.

I assume it's an issue with the overwrite folder handling with external application in MO2

Thank you for your workaround suggestion. I will try it later on today.

The following is how to get the Overwrite folder working
http://forum.step-project.com/topic/9377-mod-organizer-2-discussion-and-feedback/page-14#entry173244

Most of the issues so far has been with how the profiles are created and where. Also I found skyrimprefs.ini was not generated into profiles aswell (for me at least) I just manually copied them from the My documents/My games folder to the corresponding profile folder in MO2.

NOTE: you can check if you go into the ini editor and see if either skyrimprefs.ini or skyrim.ini is missing (I had a bogus skyrim.ini in my 2nd profile with only 2 entries and had to replace it.)

Gernash's suggestion did not work for me. I do confirm the .ini files are as he described.

Win7. Maybe it has something to do with the disks the profile, mo and steam (the game) are installed are different?

My symptoms are actually issue #1048.

The new version of Mo2 http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/6194/? seems to have this issue sorted to an extent you can have a try of that.

commented Mar 6, 2017

I might mention it will not work in portable mode as well.

Install

commented Mar 6, 2017

I'm on 2.0.8.3 (c64e12a)

I'm on new_vfs_library head (9065587), 32 bit applications (LOOT and FNIS) just don't see the VFS. Looks like their 32-bitness is straight up not detected:

Skyrim Generate Fnis For Users Error

I am having the same issue. ERROR(76): Could not find a part of the path 'D:GamesSteamsteamappscommonSkyrim Special EditiondatatoolsGenerateFNIS_for_Userstemporary_logs'.
This happens only on MO ver 2.1.3 and not on ver. 2.1.2.
Has anyone found a cause or solution? The above fixes do not work for me. I'm on windows 10

I am having a similar issue as well i have done everything followed tutorials etc etc. But i keep getting the error 76 thing about the temporary logs. And i have installed it correctly and this and that. So if anyone can help me find a work around or something i appreciate it. i am using oldrim legendary edition. not Speciel Edition. i lost the error report but it is similar to the temporary log issue in SE.

I had the same problem. I had created a mod for the overwrite files generated by FNIS. I removed that mod and FNIS then reinstalled FNIS. You can check what mod is associated with the folder by:

  1. clicking Data tab in MO2
  2. expand to tools -> GenerateFNIS_for_Users -> temporary_logs.
  3. any files there will show the associated mod

Re:
ERROR(76): Could not find a part of the path 'T:GamesSteamsteamappscommonSkyrimVRdatatoolsGenerateFNIS_for_Userstemporary_logs'.

Fix: Delete FNIS Behaviors mod from MO2 entirely and re-install it.
(Removing the shortcut/Exe in MO isn't enough. Even copying over the temporary_logs folder over to the location it was looking for didn't help.)
